In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Ripley Tigers football squad scored a close 20-16 victory over the Charleston Tigers.

In their next game, the Tigers clash with the Kossuth Aggies (Kossuth, MS) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 1. Ripley will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Aggies enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 28-0 non-league win over Baldwyn (Baldwyn, MS).

With the loss, Charleston drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers host North Panola (Sardis, MS) to confront the Cougars in a non-league test on Friday, September 1. The Cougars come into the test with a record of 1-0. North Panola won 38-0 in their recent non-league test against Palmer (Marks, MS)
