The Lapeer Lightning (Lapeer, MI) football overcame the host Huron River Rats (Ann Arbor, MI), 40-13 in Thursday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Lightning clash with the Traverse City Central Trojans (Traverse City, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 1. Lapeer will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
