The Athens Hornets volleyball team (Athens, TX), was dropped 2-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the visiting Lorena Leopards (Lorena, TX)

The Leopards (16-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Eustace (Eustace, TX). The Bulldogs enter the non-league challenge with a 3-7 record. In their last challenge, Eustace was dropped by Frankston (Frankston, TX), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Hornets meet the Cumberland Academy Knights (Tyler, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, August 24. Athens will attempt to move on its 5-8 season record. The Knights enter the challenge with a 11-5 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Winona (Winona, TX).
