In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Centerville Elks soccer squad scored a tight 3-1 win over the Covington Catholic Colonels.

The Elks (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Northmont (Clayton, OH). The Thunderbolts enter the Greater Western Ohio battle with a 1-1 record. In their last battle, Northmont by Chaminade Julienne Catholic (Dayton, OH), 5-1, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Colonels battle the Beechwood Tigers (Fort Mitchell, KY) in a District 35 battle, on Tuesday, August 27. Covington Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Tigers enter the battle with a 0-2 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to St. Henry (Erlanger, KY).
