The Marion County Eagles softball team scored 14 runs and held the visiting Baconton Charter Blazers to 11 in the Eagles non-league win on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 4-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Schley County for a 1A D-II Region 6 battle on Tuesday, August 27. Marion County will encounter a Wildcats team coming off a 10-6 league win over Taylor County (Butler, GA). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-7.

With the loss, Baconton Charter moves to 3-6 on the season. The Blazers travel to Pelham (Pelham, GA) to encounter the Hornets in a 1A D-II Region 1 battle on Tuesday, August 27. The Hornets come into the battle with a record of 4-3. Pelham lost 15-14 in their recent league battle against Seminole County (Donalsonville, GA)
