The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 5 runs and held the visiting Chamblee Bulldogs to 1 in the Mustangs non-league win on Saturday.

The Mustangs now sport a 3-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Landmark Christian for a 1A D-I Region 5 battle on Tuesday, August 27. Mount Vernon will encounter a War Eagles team coming off a 15-0 league loss to Wesleyan (Norcross, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Chamblee moves to 7-1 on the season. The Bulldogs host Cambridge (Milton, GA) to encounter the Bears in a non-league battle on Monday, August 26. The Bears come into the battle with a record of 9-2. Cambridge won 9-0 in their recent league battle against Westminster (Atlanta, GA)
