In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Yorba Linda Mustangs volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Kennedy Fighting Irish.

The Mustangs (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Portola (Irvine, CA). The Bulldogs enter the non-league challenge with a 2-4 record. In their last challenge, Portola was tipped by Sunny Hills (Fullerton, CA), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Fighting Irish meet the Westminster Lions (Westminster, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 24. Kennedy will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Lions enter the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Pacifica (Garden Grove, CA).
