Glenbrook North Spartans (Northbrook, IL) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team knock off the visiting Cristo Rey St. Martin Knights (Waukegan, IL), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Spartans face the Streamwood Sabres (Streamwood, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, August 29. Glenbrook North will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Sabres enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 2-2 non-league Fremd (Palatine, IL).
The Knights now have a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Northridge for a Independent Schools challenge on Saturday, August 27. Cristo Rey St. Martin will face a Knights team coming off a 8-0 non-league win over Christian Liberty (Arlington Heights, IL). The Knights record now stands at 1-0.
