Wayne County Yellow Jackets (Jesup, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Camden County Wildcats (Kingsland, GA), 5-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Yellow Jackets now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Burke County for a 4A Region 3 challenge on Tuesday, August 30. Wayne County will battle a Bears squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Georgia School for Innovation & Classics (Hephzibah, GA). The Bears record now stands at 7-4.

With the loss, Camden County falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Wildcats host Liberty County (Hinesville, GA) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Monday, August 29. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-3. Liberty County lost 15-0 in their recent league challenge against Long County (Ludowici, GA)
