The Holly Springs Golden Hawks (Holly Springs, NC) football edged the visiting Clayton Comets (Clayton, NC), 32-28 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Golden Hawks face the Fuquay - Varina Bengals (Fuquay-Varina, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 1. Holly Springs will attempt to advance on its 2-0 season record. The Bengals enter the bout with a 1-1 record after their 28-19 non-league win over Apex (Apex, NC).

The Comets (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Wakefield (Raleigh, NC). The Wolverines enter the non-league bout with a 0-2 record. In their last bout, Wakefield was nudged by Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC), 21-14, in a non-league bout.
