In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Lakeland Regional Lancers football squad scored a close 10-7 victory over the Verona Hillbillies.

In their next game, the Lancers clash with the Sparta Spartans (Sparta, NJ) in a Super - American White match, on Friday, September 1. Lakeland Regional will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.

The Hillbillies (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Madison (Madison, NJ). The Dodgers enter the Super - American Gold match with a 0-0 record.
