In Friday's non-league game, the Nelson County Governors (Lovingston, VA) football team knocked off the visiting Randolph-Henry Statesmen (Charlotte Court House, VA), by a score of 28-14.
The Governors (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Mountain View (Quicksburg, VA). The Generals come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Mountain View was dropped by Bath County (Hot Springs, VA), 54-8, in a non-league game.
The Statesmen now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to James River for a non-league game on Friday, September 1. Randolph-Henry will battle a Knights team coming off a 13-12 non-league win over Buffalo Gap (Swoope, VA). The Knights record now stands at 1-0.
