The West Mecklenburg Hawks thwarted the visiting Rocky River Ravens football team by a count of 18-6 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, West Mecklenburg upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Hawks travel to Ashbrook (Gastonia, NC) to encounter the Greenwave in a non-league outing on Friday, September 1. The Greenwave go into the outing with a record of 0-1. Ashbrook lost 55-12 in their recent non-league outing against Forest Hills (Marshville, NC)

With the loss, Rocky River moves to 0-2 on the season. The Ravens host Monroe (Monroe, NC) to encounter the Redhawks in a non-league outing on Friday, September 1.
