The crowd at Friday's non-league bout between the Schurr Spartans (Montebello, CA) and the visiting Gabrielino Eagles (San Gabriel, CA), saw Schurr's volleyball squad beat Gabrielino by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Schurr upgrades its record to 1-0 on the year. The Spartans host Monrovia (Monrovia, CA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, September 1. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 3-1.

The Eagles now own a 1-3 record. They play next when they host Ramona Convent for a non-league bout on Wednesday, August 30. Gabrielino will play a Tigers squad coming off a 2-1 league loss to St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy (Downey, CA). The Tigers record now stands at 1-2.
