Hermantown Hawks (Hermantown, MN) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the host Mesabi East Giants (Aurora, MN), 9-0 in a league test.

The Hawks now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to Marshall for a Class A Section 7 test on Tuesday, August 29.

With the loss, Mesabi East drops to 0-1 on the season. The Giants host Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, MN) to meet the Bluejackets in a non-league test on Saturday, August 26. The Bluejackets come into the test with a record of 1-0. Cambridge-Isanti won 2-0 in their recent non-league test against Proctor (Proctor, MN)
