The Shalom Christian Academy Flames edged the visiting Delone Catholic Squires soccer team by a tally of 4-3 in Monday's non-league game.

Squires started their season on the road versus Shalom Christian Academy after defeating them last year in the playoffs. Both teams graduated several seniors. Twenty minutes in Max Holz (defender) went down with a serious ankle injury requiring emergency care. After a penalty, a free kick led to the Flames first goal 24 minutes into the game. The Squires answered back with only 4 minutes left in the half when Junior John Keeley #9 crossed it over to Freshman Vincent Lima #3 for a tied game going into the half. In the second half, only a few minutes in Will Holtz takes it in for the second goal for the Squires followed quickly by a Holtz assist to Junior #2 Nico Scamardella giving Delone the 3-1 lead. The Flames answered with three goals in 3 1/2 minutes winning 4-3.
