Fans at Monday's non-league battle between the Sullivan County Griffins (Laporte, PA) and the host Towanda Black Knights (Towanda, PA), saw Sullivan County's soccer squad hold off Towanda by a count of 2-1.

The Griffins (1-1) will now prepare for their battle against Loyalsock Township (Williamsport, PA). The Lancers enter the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Loyalsock Township was edged by Millville (Millville, PA), 1-0, in a non-league battle.

Next up, the Black Knights confront the Williamson Warriors (Tioga, PA) in a PIAA District IV-AA match, on Wednesday, August 27. Towanda will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record. The Warriors come into the match with a 3-0 record after their 5-1 non-league win over Northern Potter (Ulysses, PA).
