In Thursday's league battle, the host Genoa-Kingston Cogs volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Harvard Hornets.
The Cogs (2-0) will now prepare for their battle against Sycamore (Sycamore, IL). The Spartans come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Sycamore lost by DeKalb (DeKalb, IL), 2-1, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Hornets clash with the Johnsburg Skyhawks (Johnsburg, IL) in a Kishwaukee River battle, on Monday, August 30. Harvard will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Skyhawks come into the battle with a 1-5 record after their 2-1 non-league win over Grayslake North (Grayslake, IL).
