The Wilkes Central Eagles walloped the host Avery County Vikings football team by a count of 49-13 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Wilkes Central upgrades its record to 1-1 on the season. The Eagles host Patton (Morganton, NC) to confront the Panthers in a non-league outing on Thursday, September 1. The Panthers go into the outing with a record of 0-2. Patton lost 46-16 in their recent non-league outing against Draughn (Valdese, NC)

With the loss, Avery County moves to 0-2 on the season. The Vikings host Hampton (Hampton, TN) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league outing on Friday, September 2. The Bulldogs go into the outing with a record of 1-1. Hampton won 44-0 in their recent non-league outing against Johnson County (Mountain City, TN)
