Wisconsin High School Football - Baraboo tips Beaver Dam

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Baraboo Thunderbirds (Baraboo, WI) and the visiting Beaver Dam Golden Beavers (Beaver Dam, WI), observed Baraboo's football squad edge Beaver Dam by a count of 20-14.

The Thunderbirds now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Tomah for a Mississippi Valley contest on Friday, September 2. Baraboo will encounter a Timberwolves squad coming off a 49-8 non-league loss to West Salem (West Salem, WI). The Timberwolves record now stands at 1-1.

Coming up next, the Golden Beavers encounter the Fort Atkinson Blackhawks (Fort Atkinson, WI) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 2. Beaver Dam will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Blackhawks go into the contest with a 1-1 record after their 18-0 non-league loss to West Bend West (West Bend, WI).

First Quarter

The Golden Beavers put their first points on the board against Baraboo with a kickoff return touchdown on the first play of the game. They then followed that up with a missed 2-point conversion. Their defense allowed Baraboo to score and take the early lead.

Second Quarter

The second quarter was a scoreless quarter for both teams. Baraboo had the chance to take a further lead with a field goal right before half, but to no avail; wide left.

With one chance left Eli Bryant(7) marched all the way to just outside the red zone and threw an interception to Baraboo.
