In Friday's non-league game, the Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) football team smashed the host Bertie Falcons (Windsor, NC), by a score of 40-0.

The Aces (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Rocky Mount (Rocky Mount, NC). The Gryphons come into the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Rocky Mount overwhelmed Northeastern (Elizabeth City, NC), 31-28, in a non-league game.

The Falcons now sport a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hertford County for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Bertie will meet a Bears team coming off a 56-54 non-league win over Tarboro (Tarboro, NC). The Bears record now stands at 2-0.
