    In Friday's non-league game, the Helena Huskies (Helena, AL) football team smashed the host Buckhorn Bucks (New Market, AL), by a final score of 55-17.

    The Huskies (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Homewood (Homewood, AL). The Patriots come into the 6A Region 3 game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, Homewood was trounced by Vestavia Hills (Vestavia Hills, AL), 35-0, in a non-league game.

    The Bucks now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Gadsden City for a 6A Region 8 game on Friday, September 2. Buckhorn will battle a Titans team coming off a 64-17 non-league loss to Hewitt-Trussville (Trussville, AL). The Titans record now stands at 0-2.
