The Clinton Maroons football team (Clinton, IL), was beaten 28-0 in Friday's non-league challenge with the visiting Lincoln Railsplitters (Lincoln, IL)

The Railsplitters (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Charleston (Charleston, IL). The Trojans come into the Apollo challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, Charleston was beaten by Herscher (Herscher, IL), 41-30, in a non-league challenge.

The Maroons now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Argenta-Oreana for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 2. Clinton will meet a Bombers team coming off a 25-0 non-league loss to Warrensburg-Latham (Warrensburg, IL). The Bombers record now stands at 0-1.
