In Friday's non-league game, the Copiah Academy Colonels (Gallman, MS) football team knocked off the visiting Riverfield Academy Raiders (Rayville, LA), by a final score of 39-21.
The Colonels (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Pelahatchie (Pelahatchie, MS). The Chiefs come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Pelahatchie was dropped by Florence (Florence, MS), 42-6, in a non-league game.
The Raiders now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to St. Aloysius for a MAIS 4A District 3 game on Friday, September 2. Riverfield Academy will battle a Flashes team coming off a 8-0 non-league loss to Centreville Academy (Centreville, MS). The Flashes record now stands at 1-1.
