Mississippi High School Football - Deer Creek sneaks past Hillcrest Christian

The Deer Creek Warriors (Arcola, MS) football edged the visiting Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS), 28-22 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Warriors face the Sharkey Issaquena Academy Confederates (Rolling Fork, MS) in a MAIS 8-Man 1A District 2 (8 Man) bout, on Friday, September 2. Deer Creek will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Confederates enter the bout with a 0-1 record after their 22-20 non-league loss to Delta Academy (Marks, MS).

The Cougars (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Lee Academy (Marianna, AR). The Cougars enter the non-league bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Lee Academy was nudged by North Sunflower Academy (Drew, MS), 40-28, in a non-league bout.
