In Friday's non-league game, the East Buchanan Buccaneers (Winthrop, IA) football team smashed the visiting Highland Huskies (Riverside, IA), by a score of 54-0.
The Buccaneers (1-0) will now prepare for their game against North Linn (Troy Mills, IA). The Lynx come into the A District 4 game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, North Linn was ripped by Alburnett (Alburnett, IA), 16-13, in a non-league game.
The Huskies now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they host Columbus for a A District 5 game on Friday, September 2. Highland will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 55-14 non-league win over Louisa-Muscatine (Letts, IA). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.
