Virginia High School Football - Gate City drops to Richlands

In Friday's non-league game, the Richlands Blue Tornado (Richlands, VA) football team knocked off the host Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA), by a score of 27-13.

The Blue Tornado (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Union (Appalachia, VA). The Bears come into the non-league game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Union toppled Lee (Jonesville, VA), 48-7, in a league game.

The Blue Devils now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Radford for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Gate City will battle a Bobcats team coming off a 29-15 non-league win over George Wythe (Wytheville, VA). The Bobcats record now stands at 1-0.
