In Friday's league game, the Normal University Pioneers (Normal, IL) football team smashed the visiting Lanphier Lions (Springfield, IL), by a final score of 42-6.
The Pioneers (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL). The Spartans come into the Central State Eight game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Springfield Southeast was trounced by MacArthur (Decatur, IL), 40-8, in a league game.
