Illinois High School Football - Mt. Vernon overwhelms Taylorville

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Mt. Vernon Rams (Mt. Vernon, IL) and the visiting Taylorville Tornadoes (Taylorville, IL), observed Mt. Vernon's football squad bounce Taylorville by a count of 40-0.

The Rams now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Mascoutah for a non-league contest on Friday, September 2. Mt. Vernon will play a Indians squad coming off a 49-26 non-league win over Columbia (Columbia, IL). The Indians record now stands at 1-0.
