In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Newport Greyhounds football squad scored a close 34-28 victory over the Osceola Seminoles.

In their next game, the Greyhounds clash with the Beebe Badgers (Beebe, AR) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 2. Newport will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Badgers enter the match with a 1-0 record after their 43-6 non-league win over Jacksonville (Jacksonville, AR).

The Seminoles (0-2) will now prepare for their match against Blytheville (Blytheville, AR). The Chickasaws enter the non-league match with a 0-0 record.
