    • Alabama High School Football - Phillips topples Tharptown

    August 26, 2022: Bear Creek, AL 35543

    The Phillips Bears (Bear Creek, AL) football defeated the visiting Tharptown Wildcats (Russellville, AL), 37-22 in Friday's non-league bout.

    In their next game, the Bears face the Shoals Christian Flame (Florence, AL) in a 1A Region 8 bout, on Friday, September 2. Phillips will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Flame enter the bout with a 0-1 record after their 28-14 non-league loss to Tharptown (Russellville, AL).

    The Wildcats (1-1) will now prepare for their bout against Tanner (Tanner, AL). The Rattlers enter the 2A Region 8 bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Tanner defeated Mae Jemison (Huntsville, AL), 61-46, in a non-league bout.
