Pennsylvania High School Football - Scranton nips Wilkes-Barre

August 26, 2022: Scranton, PA 18508

In Friday's non-league match, the host Scranton Knights football squad scored a close 25-22 victory over the Wilkes-Barre .

In their next game, the Knights clash with the Wyoming Valley West Spartans (Plymouth, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 2. Scranton will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Spartans enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 20-13 non-league loss to North Pocono (Covington Township, PA).

The (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA). The Comets enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Abington Heights was nudged by Dallas (Dallas, PA), 44-13, in a non-league match.

Congratulations to #3 Mekhi Nelson (overall and special teams), #8 Naquan Johnson (offensive) and #32 Gannon Redding (defensive) for being selected the Wilkes-Barre Football Players of the Game.
