Colorado High School Softball - Mead gets by Grand Junction

August 26, 2023: Grand Junction, CO 81501

Spectators at Saturday's non-league match between the Mead Mavericks (Longmont, CO) and the host Grand Junction Tigers (Grand Junction, CO), witnessed Mead's softball squad tip Grand Junction by a count of 5-4.

The Mavericks now sport a 3-4 record. They play next when they host Lakewood for a non-league match on Tuesday, August 29. Mead will face a Tigers squad coming off a 14-5 non-league win over Golden (Golden, CO). The Tigers record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Grand Junction moves to 1-4 on the season. The Tigers travel to Durango (Durango, CO) to face the Demons in a 5A/4A Southwestern match on Saturday, September 2. The Demons go into the match with a record of 1-7. Durango lost 14-13 in their recent non-league match against Coronado (Colorado Springs, CO)
