Kell Longhorns (Marietta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Hillgrove Hawks (Powder Springs, GA), 5-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Longhorns now own a 9-3 record. They take the field next when they host Northview for a 5A Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, August 29.

With the loss, Hillgrove falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Hawks host St. Pius X Catholic (Atlanta, GA) to battle the Golden Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, August 26. The Golden Lions enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. St. Pius X Catholic won 16-1 in their recent league challenge against South Cobb (Austell, GA)
