Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the Russell County Lakers (Russell Springs, KY) and the host Casey County Rebels (Liberty, KY), observed Russell County's volleyball team hold off Casey County by a count of 2-1.

The Lakers (6-2) will now prepare for their contest against Monroe County (Tompkinsville, KY). The Falcons enter the District 16 contest with a 3-0 record. In their last contest, Monroe County got by Glasgow (Glasgow, KY), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Rebels battle the Lincoln County Patriots (Stanford, KY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, August 27. Casey County will attempt to move on its 4-3 season record. The Patriots enter the contest with a 0-6 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Somerset (Somerset, KY).
