Hueneme Vikings (Oxnard, CA) followers went home pleased Tuesday as they saw their flag football team nip the visiting Bishop Alemany Warriors (Mission Hills, CA), 13-8 in a non-league match.

The Vikings (1-7) will now prepare for their match against Simi Valley (Simi Valley, CA). The Pioneers enter the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Simi Valley got by Santa Paula (Santa Paula, CA), 31-19, in a non-league match.

Next up, the Warriors play the Kennedy Cougars (Granada Hills, CA) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, September 3. Bishop Alemany will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Cougars go into the battle with a 3-4 record after their 33-0 non-league win over Arleta (Arleta, CA).
