California High School Flag Football - San Ysidro thwarted by Grossmont

August 26, 2025: El Cajon, CA 92021

Grossmont Foothillers (El Cajon, CA) fans went home in high spirits Tuesday as they saw their flag football team achieve victory over the visiting San Ysidro Cougars (San Diego, CA), 31-19 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Grossmont improves its record to 5-1 on the season. The Foothillers travel to Hoover (San Diego, CA) to meet the Cardinals in a non-league match on Thursday, August 28. The Cardinals come into the match with a record of 1-6. Hoover lost 28-6 in their recent league challenge against Clairemont (San Diego, CA)

The Cougars (4-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA). The Mustangs go into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, Otay Ranch was dropped by Santana (Santee, CA), 33-20, in a non-league challenge.
