The Avon Pirates (Avon, SD) volleyball knocked off the host Sanborn Central/Woonsocket Blackhawks (Forestburg, SD), 2-0 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Pirates now possess a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Wessington Springs for a non-league bout on Thursday, August 28. Avon will clash with a Spartans team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD). The Spartans record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Blackhawks travel to Ethan (Ethan, SD) to confront the Rustlers in a non-league match on Thursday, September 4. The Rustlers enter the match with a record of 0-1. Ethan lost 3-0 in their recent league match against Chester (Chester, SD)
