The Buckaroos (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Hooks (Hooks, TX). The Hornets come into the non-league challenge with a 13-4 record. In their last challenge, Hooks edged Mount Vernon (Mount Vernon, TX), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Pirates meet the Lafayette County Cougars (Stamps, AR) in a 2A 6 test, on Tuesday, September 9. Emerson will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record.
