North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they observed their volleyball team overcome the host Hopewell Titans (Huntersville, NC), 3-1 in a non-league challenge.
The Vikings (4-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Mallard Creek (Charlotte, NC). The Mavericks enter the Meck Power Six 7A/8A challenge with a 0-11 record. In their last challenge, Mallard Creek was beaten by Ridge View (Columbia, SC), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Titans meet the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) in a Greater Charlotte 7A/8A challenge, on Thursday, August 28. Hopewell will attempt to upgrade on its 0-6 season record. The Sabres enter the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC).
