Illinois High School Volleyball - Wethersfield tips Mercer County

The Wethersfield Flying Geese (Kewanee, IL) volleyball held off the host Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL), 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league bout.

The Flying Geese now possess a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Alleman for a non-league match on Thursday, August 28. Wethersfield will battle a Pioneers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Annawan (Annawan, IL). The Pioneers record now stands at 1-1.

The Golden Eagles (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Bureau Valley (Manlius, IL). The Storm enter the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Bureau Valley was tipped by Erie-Prophetstown (Erie, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
