    • Alabama High School Football - Florala succumbs to Houston County

    August 27, 2021: Columbia, AL 36319

    The Houston County Lions thwarted the visiting Florala Wildcats football team by a count of 21-12 in Friday's non-league outing.

    With the win, Houston County upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Lions host Ariton (Ariton, AL) to encounter the Purple Cats in a 2A Region 2 outing on Friday, September 3. The Purple Cats go into the outing with a record of 2-0. Ariton won 49-0 in their recent non-league bout against Goshen (Goshen, AL)

    The Wildcats (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Samson (Samson, AL). The Tigers enter the 1A Region 1 bout with a 1-1 record. In their last bout, Samson was toppled by Cottonwood (Cottonwood, AL), 28-14, in a non-league bout.
