Mount Vernon Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Decatur Bulldogs (Decatur, GA), 10-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now sport a 7-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Whitefield Academy for a 1A D-I Region 6 challenge on Tuesday, August 30. Mount Vernon will face a WolfPack squad coming off a 15-0 non-league loss to Marietta (Marietta, GA). The WolfPack record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Decatur falls to 6-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Lithonia (Lithonia, GA) to face the Bulldogs in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Monday, August 29. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 1-4. Lithonia won 29-9 in their recent league challenge against M.L. King (Lithonia, GA)
