The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 17 runs and held the visiting Landmark Christian War Eagles to 0 in the Mustangs league win on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now possess a 4-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pace Academy for a non-league battle on Wednesday, August 28. Mount Vernon will confront a Knights team coming off a 17-0 league win over M.L. King (Lithonia, GA). The Knights record now stands at 7-3.

With the loss, Landmark Christian moves to 0-6 on the season. The War eagles host Mount Paran Christian (Kennesaw, GA) to confront the Eagles in a 1A D-I Region 5 battle on Thursday, August 29. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 8-5. Mount Paran Christian won 5-1 in their recent non-league game against Etowah (Woodstock, GA)
