In Tuesday's non-league match, the Highland Rams (Pocatello, ID) volleyball squad overcame the host Kimberly Bulldogs (Kimberly, ID), by a final score of 3-1.
Next up, the Rams confront the Wood River Wolverines (Hailey, ID) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, August 27. Highland will attempt to advance on its 4-4 season record. The Wolverines go into the game with a 4-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Minico (Rupert, ID).
The Bulldogs (0-4) will now prepare for their game against Gooding (Gooding, ID). The Senators go into the 3A Sawtooth Central Idaho game with a 1-4 record.
Match Summary
First set was a carryover of the embarrassing play from the first match. Hitters and passers struggling with ball control, but into the second set, we got into a rhythm and started playing ball like we know how. Our passing improved, serving improved and hitters took care of the ball. We gained confidence and rolled with the momentum. I am proud of them for coming back and gaining control rather than rolling over.
