Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL) and the visiting Amboy Clippers (Amboy, IL), observed Mendota's volleyball team top Amboy by a count of 2-0.

The Trojans (1-0) will now prepare for their battle against Sandwich (Sandwich, IL). The Indians go into the non-league battle with a 0-0 record.

The Clippers now own a 2-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Indian Creek for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 2. Amboy will meet a Timberwolves team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Streator (Streator, IL). The Timberwolves record now stands at 0-1.
