The Madison County Mountaineers football squad scored 64 points and limited the visiting Buckingham Knights to 14 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Mountaineers now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Western Albemarle for a non-league test on Wednesday, September 3. Madison County will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 12-7 non-league loss to Culpeper County (Culpeper, VA). The Warriors record now stands at 0-1.

The Knights (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Fluvanna County (Palmyra, VA). The Flying Flucos go into the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Fluvanna County bounced Spotsylvania (Spotsylvania, VA), 13-6, in a non-league challenge.
