Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets (Mt. Vernon, OH) backers exited the stadium pleased Wednesday as they witnessed their soccer team knock off the host Zanesville Blue Devils (Zanesville, OH), 4-2 in a league test.

With the triumph, Mt. Vernon advances its record to 3-1 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Johnstown-Monroe (Johnstown, OH) to clash with the Johnnies in a Licking County test on Wednesday, September 3. The Johnnies come into the test with a record of 4-1.

The Blue Devils now have a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Bishop Rosecrans for a non-league bout on Saturday, August 30. Zanesville will play a Bishops squad coming off a 2-1 league win over Harvest Prep (Canal Winchester, OH). The Bishops record now stands at 2-2.
