In Wednesday's non-league match, the visiting Northgate Vikings softball team scored a tight 9-7 victory over the Central Lions.

The Vikings (5-2) will now prepare for their match against Newnan (Newnan, GA). The Cougars go into the 5A Region 3 match with a 7-6 record. In their last match, Newnan by Pike County (Zebulon, GA), 10-2, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Lions battle the South Paulding Spartans (Douglasville, GA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, September 2. Central will attempt to improve on its 7-3 season record. The Spartans enter the game with a 3-7 record after their 7-4 league loss to East Paulding (Dallas, GA).
