Latta Panthers (Ada, OK) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Durant Lions (Durant, OK), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 19-4 record. They take the field next when they host Coalgate for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 29.

With the loss, Durant falls to 8-12 on the campaign. The Lions travel to McAlester (McAlester, OK) to battle the Buffaloes in a 5A District 4 challenge on Thursday, August 31. The Buffaloes enter the challenge with a record of 6-11. McAlester lost 17-1 in their recent league challenge against Tahlequah (Tahlequah, OK)
